Orthodox Wedding

Orthodox Wedding

On January 22, 2023, in our church there was a wedding of two of our long-term parishioners: Alan and Kristina. The wedding was performed according to the Orthodox rite, but a representative from the city registry office was present, and the wedding was also recognised as the official registration of marriage. Such a combination of church and secular rites of marriage was the first time in our church.

The wedding lasted about an hour and included several rituals for the happy bride and groom. Witnesses of the bride and groom were our parishioners Yuli and Silvia. Many parishioners saw an Orthodox wedding ceremony for the first time in their lives.

After the wedding, the celebration continued unofficially, when the parishioners had the opportunity to personally congratulate the newlyweds. There were also parents, relatives and friends of the bride and groom. The parishioners prepared a lot of food, and a part of it was left even after the wedding.

We hope that, with God’s help, Alan and Kristina will have a very strong Orthodox family!
