Kursk Root Icon
On 9-th and 10-th of April 2019, our parish was visited by the Wonderworking Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God. For each of these two days, there was a moleben in the church in front of the Kursk Root Icon and there were many orthodox visitors from Norwich and Cambridge. On the first day, the number of visitors was so large that some people had to stay outside the main prayer room during the moleben. Molebens were also served in front of the icon in homes of Father Spasimir and several parishioners.
We consider the icon visit as God’s great mercy and blessing for our small parish, to strengthen our orthodox faith. During those two days, £300 was raised for the Synod of Bishops of the Church Outside Russia, to cover the icon travel cost.
